The classroom chat pane continued to update, though at a slower pace as students waited for the system’s response.
“He’s trying to force the log-out,” one student typed.

Sarah observed Miller’s hand move to his desk phone. He picked up the receiver and pressed a speed-dial button. Though his microphone remained active, he pressed his physical mute button, his lips moving silently as he spoke to someone off-camera.
